Trust & Governance

Quality & Safety

At Tropical AgriFoods, food safety and quality are not marketing commitments — they are fundamental operational responsibilities built into every stage of how we source, process and deliver.

Core Standards

Our four quality pillars

Every product we bring to market is grounded in four non-negotiable principles that guide our decision-making from farm to final delivery.

Food Safety First

All products are handled and processed under practical hygiene and safety controls appropriate for their intended use, minimising contamination risk at every stage.

Reliable Consistency

Buyers and institutions depend on receiving the same product quality each order. Our sourcing structure and processing controls are designed to deliver that reliability at scale.

Sourcing Traceability

We maintain documented relationships with our grower networks and supplier partners, enabling product origin traceability where required by institutional buyers or export markets.

Product Transparency

We provide clear, accurate labelling and documentation — from ingredient declarations to preparation guidance — without resorting to exaggerated claims or marketing overstatements.

Process Management

Quality across the value chain

Our approach to quality begins before procurement and continues through every stage of the supply chain. Here is how we manage it:

01

Responsible Sourcing

Raw materials are sourced from vetted smallholder networks and registered suppliers with documented track records for crop quality and agricultural practice.

02

Post-Harvest Handling

Produce undergoes appropriate drying, grading and inspection before intake into our processing or storage facilities to prevent spoilage and maintain baseline quality.

03

Controlled Processing

All processing activities — including milling, fortification and packaging — are conducted under documented hygiene and sanitation protocols designed for food safety.

04

Clear Labelling & Dispatch

Final products are accurately labelled with ingredient declarations, production details and usage guidance before distribution to institutional and retail partners.

"Quality is not a static requirement — it is an ongoing responsibility we hold to our customers, our communities, and the families we nourish."

— Tropical AgriFoods Quality Philosophy
Frameworks

Standards & compliance

Our products and processes are developed with reference to recognised national and institutional frameworks that set benchmarks for food safety and nutrition quality.

Regulatory

National Food Safety Regulations

All products comply with applicable Ghanaian food safety and regulatory requirements, including registration, labelling standards and permissible ingredient thresholds as mandated by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).

Nutrition

OBASIMA Fortification Framework

Where relevant, our fortified products — including C-REAL™ — are formulated in reference to the OBASIMA nutrition alliance guidelines for essential vitamin and mineral addition in staple foods, supporting public health goals.

Institutional

Institutional Supply Requirements

For school feeding programmes, NGO procurement and government institutions, our processes are aligned to meet the documentation, consistency and audit-readiness requirements expected by structured institutional buyers.

Assurance

Practical quality control measures

Our focus is on building measurable reliability over time, not simply relying on claims. We apply structured quality assurance practices at each operational stage:

  • Regular visual and physical inspection of incoming raw materials before intake
  • Documented processing run records including batch identification, date and operator verification
  • Packaging integrity checks prior to dispatch to detect seal failures or labelling defects
  • Temperature and humidity monitoring in storage areas to prevent spoilage
  • Supplier performance tracking based on product quality, delivery reliability and compliance
  • Periodic product sampling to verify specifications against nutritional and physical targets

As our operations mature, we continue to formalize these systems with stronger documentation and third-party verification pathways.

Communication Sincerity

Responsible communication

We are deliberate and measured in how we communicate about our products and their benefits. Our customers deserve accuracy, not hyperbole.

  • We avoid exaggerated or medicalised health claims on packaging and marketing materials
  • We provide clear, simple preparation and usage guidance appropriate for our target audiences
  • We prioritise transparency in ingredient listings and nutritional declarations over marketing language
  • We do not position our products as treatments, supplements or cures for any medical condition

* Our food products are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any medical condition.

Our Commitment

Continuous improvement

As our operations evolve, we continue to strengthen our quality systems, deepen supplier engagement, and build richer documentation — meeting the growing expectations of our market and institutional partners. Quality is never finished; it is an ongoing commitment we renew with every batch we produce.
